Radio Ville-Marie
Trois-Rivières, Quebec
Application 2013-1691-9
CIRA-FM-2 Trois-Rivières –Technical changes
1. The Commission approves the application by Radio Ville-Marie to change the authorized contours of CIRA-FM-2 Trois-Rivières, a transmitter for the French-language specialty FM radio programming undertaking CIRA-FM Montréal, by relocating the transmitter, decreasing its average effective radiated power (ERP) from 6,000 to 2,100 watts (maximum ERP from 6,000 to 3,200 watts), changing its radiation pattern from non-directional to directional and increasing its effective height above average terrain from 40.8 to 53.8 metres. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
2. The licensee stated that it had to relocate the transmitter because the lease on the current transmitter site had expired and would not be renewed. The owner asked the licensee to vacate the current site.
3. The Commission reminds the licensee that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
