CJFY-FM Blackville – Revocation of licence
1. Miramichi Fellowship Center, Inc. (Miramichi Fellowship) has requested the revocation of its broadcasting licence for the English-language specialty commercial radio programming undertaking CJFY-FM Blackville, New Brunswick.
2. In Licensing of new radio stations to serve Miramichi, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2012-301, 18 May 2012, the Commission approved an application by Miramichi Fellowship to operate a new English-language commercial FM radio station to serve Miramichi. Since Miramichi Fellowship was already operating the radio station CJFY-FM Blackville with a rebroadcasting transmitter in Miramichi, the Commission approved the applicant’s proposal to change its operating system in that market to provide greater coverage in the higher population centre. The applicant would now operate a station based in Miramichi with a rebroadcasting transmitter in Blackville.
3. Given the licensee’s request and pursuant to sections 9(1)(e) and 24(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission revokes the broadcasting licence issued to Miramichi Fellowship Center, Inc. for the above-mentioned undertaking.
