CJIQ-FM Kitchener/Paris –Technical changes
1. The Commission approves the application by Conestoga College Communications Corporation to change the authorized contours of the campus radio programming undertaking CJIQ-FM Kitchener/Paris, Ontario, by decreasing the average effective radiated power (ERP) from 4,000 watts to 3,386 watts (maximum ERP from 10,600 watts to 8,220 watts), by changing the antenna’s polarization from horizontal to circular and by increasing the antenna’s effective height above average terrain from 220.5 to 249 metres. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
2. The licensee stated that these changes are needed to provide a better signal to its listeners.
3. The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
