CIAO Brampton – Technical change
1. The Commission approves the application by Dufferin Communications Inc. to change the authorized contours of the ethnic commercial radio programming undertaking CIAO Brampton, Ontario by changing the antenna radiation pattern from directional to non-directional through the use of a single tower with a height of 225.6 metres, and by changing the station’s class from C to B. The Commission received an intervention in support of this application.
2. The licensee indicated that it wished to rebuild its facilities to avoid extensive and unpredictable repairs and ensure that CIAO provides an improved and more reliable service to listeners.
3. The Commission reminds the licensee that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
