CHOE-FM Matane –Technical change
1. The Commission approves the application by Les Communications Matane inc. to change the authorized contours of the French-language commercial radio programming undertaking CHOE-FM Matane, Quebec, by decreasing the average effective radiated power of the transmitter from 30,000 to 14,600 watts. The class of the station will go from B to B1. All other technical parameters will remain unchanged. The Commission did not receive any interventions regarding with this application.
2. The licensee stated that this change is necessary because the current transmitter is obsolete and must be changed. It added that the new parameters will allow it to maintain a quality service in its service area.
3. The Commission reminds the licensee that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
