Dear Ms. Duguay:
RE: Tariff Notice No. 597 – Rates for basic service and regional service
On 16 September 2013, the Commission received an application submitted by TELUS Communications Company (TCC) as part of Tariff Notice No. 597 (TN 597), in which TCC proposed adding the municipality of Manicouagan 5 to the list of exchanges eligible solely for the monthly contract for business local exchange services. TCC stated that it is not possible to offer the contractual reductions granted for one-, two-, three- or five-year contracts because of the high costs associated with providing business local exchange services in that remote region. TCC indicated that its application qualified as a Group B retail tariff filing.
Commission staff is continuing its analysis. Consequently, the application and any subsequent amendments will not be approved on an interim basis on the 15th calendar day following receipt. However, the Commission intends to dispose of this application, along with all subsequent revisions, within 45 business days of receipt.
Yours sincerely,
