Re: Procedures for authorized and unauthorized attachments pursuant to incumbent carriers’ support structure tariffs

Dear Madam, Sir:

By letter dated 16 September 2013, Bell Aliant Regional Communications, L.P. and Bell Canada (collectively, the Bell companies) stated that Shaw Communications Inc.’s (Shaw) responses to the Bell companies requests for information with regard to the need of power equipment on poles seem to conflict with pictures filed by TELUS Communications Company (TCC) of Shaw's equipment on the record of this proceeding. The Bell companies stated that rather than raise this issue on 27 September 2013 in accordance with the procedures established by the Commission , they would like to provide Shaw the opportunity to clarify this issue ahead of parties' reply comments.

By letter dated 18 September 2013, Shaw stated that if the Bell Companies and other parties would gain a better understanding of the issues in Shaw’s application by virtue of receiving a response to the Bell companies’ further request for information, then Shaw was prepared to deliver same, by no later than 23 September 2013.

Shaw submitted that in light of the Bell companies’ further request for information and in consideration of the volume of material filed by the parties, a short extension of time would enable all parties to more adequately prepare reply comments. Shaw requested that the date for filing reply comments be extended to 4 October 2013.

Commission staff considers Shaw’s request for an extension to the date for the filing of reply comments to be appropriate. Accordingly, in response to the Bell companies’ request, Shaw’s additional information is to be filed with the Commission and served on all parties by 23 September 2013. All parties may file reply comments with the Commission and served on all parties by 4 October 2013.

All submissions are to be made in accordance with the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure, SOR/2010-277.

Yours sincerely,
