RE: TELUS Communications Company – TCC Tariff Notice 649 and TCBC Tariff Notice 4362

Dear Sir:

On 21 March 2013, the Commission received applications by TELUS Communications Company under TCC Tariff Notice 649 and TCBC Tariff Notice 4362, in which the company proposed modifications to its Local Network Interconnection and Component Unbundling tariffs in its incumbent serving territory in Alberta and British Columbia. The Company proposed to adopt the discount schedule for traffic termination compensation payments approved by the Commission in Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership and Bell Canada – Proposed revision to the treatment of imbalance traffic compensation, Telecom Decision CRTC 2010-787, 25 October 2010.

Commission staff is continuing its analysis of the applications. Consequently, the Commission was not able to dispose of the applications within 45 business days
following their receipt. The Commission intends to dispose of these applications, along with any associated subsequent revisions, by the end of June 2013.

Yours sincerely,
