RE: Part 1 Application for the recovery of local competition start-up costs – Request for extension
Dear Mr Yeulett:
By letter, dated 17 December 20102, Commission staff requested that Northwestel Inc. (Northwestel) disclose certain information on the public record by 20 December 2012.
According to the process outlined in that letter, interested parties were to file written comments with the Commission, solely in relation to the information disclosed by Northwestel or otherwise filed by Northwestel in its 23 November 2012 response, serving copies on all other parties, by 8 January 2013. Northwestel was to provide reply comments by 11 January 2013.
On 14 January 2013, Northwestel requested an extension to reply to comments by the Public Interest Advocacy Centre and Consumers’ Association of Canada (collectively, PIAC/CAC). Northwestel submitted that it had not been served a copy of PIAC/CAC’s comments until
11 January 2013, and that its regulatory resources were committed to other important filings during the week of 14 January 2013.
In the circumstance, Northwestel’s request for an extension to file its response to PIAC/CAC’s comments to 21 January 2013 is reasonable.
