CJGY-FM Grande Prairie – Licence amendment
1. The Commission approves the application by Grande Prairie Radio Ltd. to amend the broadcasting licence for the English-language commercial specialty FM radio programming undertaking CJGY-FM Grande Prairie, Alberta by amending condition of licence 4 set out in Christian music FM radio station in Grande Prairie, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2006-623, 15 November 2006. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
2. The former condition of licence required the licensee to direct its contributions entirely to the Shai Gospel Music Awards. The licensee indicated that the Shai Gospel Music Awards no longer exist, and that it intended to contribute to Mega Music Canada Inc., another eligible initiative.
3. Condition of licence 4 will now read as follows:
The licensee shall contribute an annual minimum of $16,000 to the development and promotion of Canadian content.
All Canadian content development contributions shall be allocated to parties and initiatives fulfilling the definition of eligible initiatives set out in paragraph 108 of Commercial Radio Policy 2006, Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2006-158, 15 December 2006.
* This decision is to be appended to the licence.
