RE:  Part 1 Applications to Review and Vary Telecom Regulatory Policy 2011-703 by Rogers Communications Inc. and Shaw Cablesystems G.P. – Request for extension

Dear Madam/Sir:

The Commission is in receipt of a letter dated 5 September 2012 from
Shaw Cablesystems G.P. (Shaw) requesting an extension to 12 September 2012 for submission of reply comments regarding responses to requests for information posed to parties by the Commission on 24 July 2012 in the above proceedings.

Commission staff notes that the Canadian Network Operators Consortium (CNOC) filed its comments on the requests for information on 5 September 2012 rather than the 31 August due date. CNOC submitted that the lateness of its submission was due to clerical error and requested that its submission be considered by the Commission when making its decisions on the proceedings. CNOC submitted that it had no objection to allowing parties three extra business days beyond the 7 September 2012 due date for the filing of their replies.

In Commission staff’s view, Shaw’s request for an extension is reasonable. Further, in the circumstances, it would be reasonable to include CNOC’s submission on the record of the proceedings.

Accordingly, reply comments may be filed by 12 September 2012.

Where a document is to be filed or served by a specific date, the document must be actually received, not merely sent, by that date. Copies of the documents should also be sent to

Yours sincerely,
