Dear Madam:

RE:     Tariff Notice 0036 - Increase to residential line

On 3 August 2012, the Commission received an application by La Compagnie de Téléphone de Courcelles Inc. (Courcelles) under cover of Tariff Notice 0036 (TN 36).  In its application, the company proposed to increase its residential line.  Commission staff notes that Courcelles did not indicate the application category: a Group A or Group B filing.

Accordingly, as Courcelles did not specify under which tariff group it wished to file its application, and as Commission staff raised some questions regarding the application in the attached enquiry, the staff will process TN 36 as a Group B filing.  Please refer to Telecom Information Bulletin CRTC 2010-455, Approval processes for tariff applications and intercarrier agreements, 5 July 2010 (Information Bulletin 2010-455), for the approval mechanism for Group B filings.

Under paragraph 28(1)(a) of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure, the Commission may require a party to provide information or documents that it considers necessary.

Courcelles is requested to provide comprehensive answers, including rationale and any supporting information, to the attached questions by 17 August 2012.

Consequently, this application will not be approved on an interim basis on the 15th calendar day after it was received.  The Commission intends to dispose of this application and any subsequent revisions within 45 business days of receipt of the filing.

Yours sincerely,

‘Original signed by M. Murray’
