Re: Application for ownership review of TELUS Corporation and TELUS Communications Inc.

Mr. Lockie,

On 4 July 2012, WIND Mobile (WIND) filed a letter with the Commission with regard to its Part 1 application, originally filed 20 June 2012. WIND requested that additional documents (the Evidence) be added to the record of its application, submitting that the Evidence is relevant to the issue at hand and was only made public following its initial application. WIND further submitted that TELUS should be required to produce certain documentation referenced in the Evidence.

Commission staff considers that the Evidence is relevant to the subject of the application, and notes that it is a public document that was already in TELUS’ possession prior to the 4 July filing by WIND.  Staff therefore grants WIND’s request to add its letter and attachment to the record of its application.

At the same time, Staff considers WIND’s request that the Commission require that TELUS produce certain documentation related to the Evidence to be premature. TELUS has not yet filed its answer and the Commission has the ability to request information from TELUS if it should deem such information necessary for a fulsome examination of the application.

A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding.

Yours sincerely,

Neil Barratt
