RE: Status of the implementation of local competition in CoopTel’s territory
In Telecom Decision CRTC 2012-36, CoopTel - Implementation of local competition for Cogeco Cable Inc., the Commission approved the plan for the implementation of local competition, including local number portability (referred to jointly as local competition) in CoopTel’s territory.
The Commission also directed CoopTel to provide information and assistance to Cogeco Câble Québec s.e.n.c. (Cogeco Québec) and TELUS Communications Company (TCC) in the negotiation process, as required, in order to implement local competition as quickly as possible so that Cogeco Québec may begin operating in CoopTel’s territory by no later than 23 July 2012.
The Commission staff asks that CoopTel provide information on the status of its implementation plan. Accordingly, CoopTel is required to submit the information in the table below, indicating the completion dates mutually agreed upon by CoopTel and Cogeco Québec/TCC, by 12 July 2012.
