RE: Tariff Notice-729 – Withdrawal of IP Centrex service

Dear Sir:

On 18 June 2012, MTS Allstream Inc. (MTS Allstream or the company) filed, for the Commission’s approval, proposed revisions to its General Tariff (CRTC 24001) for Item 1988 – IP Centrex Service. Specifically, MTS Allstream proposed to withdraw IP Centrex service with a requested effective date of 4 July 2012.

Commission staff reminds MTS Allstream that, pursuant to Approval processes for tariff applications and intercarrier agreements, Telecom Information Bulletin CRTC 2010-455, 5 July 2010 (Telecom Information Bulletin 2010-455), applications for service destandardization and/or withdrawal must be filed with the Commission at least 45 business days before the proposed effective date. Commission staff further notes that the Commission stated in Telecom Information Bulletin 2010-455 that if there are no customers for a particular service the Commission intends to grant interim approval within 10 business days of a complete application being filed, and to issue a final decision within 45 business days of the date of the application.

For efficiency, the Commission will treat this application on the basis that the proposed effective date is 45 days from the date the application was filed, rather than requiring the company to file a new application.

Yours sincerely,
