RE: Tariff Notice 880 – Access Tariff for Interconnection with Interexchange Carriers

Dear Sir:

On 1 February 2012, the Commission received the above-referenced tariff notice submitted by NorthwesTel Inc., in which the company filed for approval, revisions to its Carrier Access Tariff (CAT) rate. Specifically, the company filed to decrease its CAT rate to $0.038 per minute per end.

In Telecom Policy 2011-771, NorthwesTel Inc.- Review of Regulatory Framework, the Commission approved a CAT rate for NorthwesTel of $0.038 effective 1 January 2012. Since this CAT rate had previously been granted Commission approval effective this date, the company should not have filed this tariff notice. The company should issue the tariff page with the approved CAT rate.

Consequently, this application is closed.

Yours sincerely,
