RE: Establishment of Ad Hoc working group to consider a model Municipal Access Agreement per Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2011-614-1
In Amended proceeding to consider a model Municipal Access Agreement, Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2011-614-1, 7 February 2012, the Commission requested that the CRTC Interconnection Committee (CISC) form an ad hoc Working Group (WG) to develop a model Municipal Access Agreement (MAA).
In light of the above, a Chairperson must be appointed to lead the ad hoc WG. As stated in the CISC Administrative Guidelines (the Guidelines) http://www.crtc.gc.ca/cisc/eng/cag.htm, the responsibilities of a WG Chair include: establishing and maintaining a WG distribution list; circulating each meeting agenda to the WG distribution list; presiding at WG meetings; timely identification of disputes; maintaining meeting minutes; assigning file names and numbers to various documents; transmitting documents to the CRTC; providing monthly reports including status reports of tasks, new tasks, etc. as required by the Steering Committee (SC); and attending SC meetings.
The process for appointing a new Chairperson, as outlined in the Guidelines, is that the appointment and reappointment of the Chairs of CISC WGs will be determined by a consensus of the members of the SC. If a consensus is not achieved, the Chair of the SC will make the selection.
As the Chair of the SC, I am seeking nominations for a Chair of the ad hoc WG to develop a model MAA. Please submit any such nominations via e-mail to jeanne.lacombe@crtc.gc.ca by 13 February 2012.
A conference call meeting of the CISC SC is scheduled for 17 February 2012. At that meeting, the SC will confirm the creation of the ad hoc WG to deal with the Commission’s request. Also at that meeting, the Chair of the ad hoc WG will be appointed.
Please advise Jeanne.lacombe@crtc.gc.ca by 13 February 2012 of your intention to participate in the 17 February 2012 CISC SC conference call meeting.
Yours sincerely,
Mario Bertrand
