RE:  Bell Aliant Tariff Notice 399 and Bell Canada Tariff Notice 7344

Dear Sir:

On 26 January 2012, the Commission received applications by Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership and Bell Canada (together, the Bell companies), under cover of the above-mentioned tariff notices, in which the Bell companies each proposed to introduce General Tariff Item 4623 – High Definition Serial Digital Video Local Channel Service (HD-SDI service).

Paragraph 28(1)(a) of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure provides that the Commission may request parties to file information or documents where needed.

The Bell companies are requested to provide a comprehensive answer, including rationale and any supporting information, to the attached question by 10 February 2012.  Consequently, this application along with any associated subsequent revisions will not be approved on an interim basis on the 15th calendar day following their receipt.  However, the

Commission intends to dispose of this application, along with all associated subsequent revisions, within 45 business days of receipt of the filing.

Yours sincerely,
