Re: Application number 2012-0566-7
In a letter dated 5 July, 2012, the Ontario Educational Communications Authority (TVO) requested that the Commission make its determination with respect to the above noted application on an expedited basis. Specifically, TVO requested that the Commission render its decision before 31 July, 2012, in light of the fact that it will shut down its analog medium and high power transmitters as of that date.
Commission staff notes that TVO intends to file its reply to interventions with the Commission immediately following the deadline for filing interventions, which was 9 July, 2012, with a view to assist the Commission in rendering its decision as soon as possible, notwithstanding that TVO has until 19 July, 2012, to do so.
Commission staff acknowledges TVO’s concern with respect to the potential impact should the decision be rendered after 31 July, 2012 and the Commission will seek to render its decision on this matter as expeditiously as possible.
A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding.
