Re: Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2012-224 – Notice to appear at a public hearing
Dear Mr. Cardinal
This is in response to your letter dated 4 June 2012 in which you requested further details on the process the Commission undertook to determine that, at the 19 June 2012 hearing, your comments must be limited to the renewal of AVR’s licences.
The determination was made by the Panel of the 19 June 2012 hearing during a Panel meeting dated 31 May 2012. Having considered the scope of the hearing, which deals with licensing and renewal applications and the behavior of licensees during the course of the term of their last licence, as established by Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2012-224 (as amended by 2012-224-1), the Panel determined that the substance of the National Indigenous Media Association of Canada’s presentation and comments at the oral hearing must be limited to the renewal of AVR’s licences. The Native Broadcasting Policy is outside the scope of this hearing.
Should you require anything further, please do not hesitate to contact Émilie Godbout by phone at 819-953-4826 or by email at email@example.com.
