Re: Review of the Local Programming Improvement Fund – Procedural Request
Dear Mr. Brazeau,
This is in reference to your letter of 9 February requesting the re-scheduling of the public hearing to review the Local Programming Improvement Fund (LPIF). You noted that the Supreme Court of Canada would be hearing Cogeco Cable Inc., et al. v. Bell Media Inc. et al. (the “Value for Signal appeal”) on April 19, which falls within the scheduled hearing dates.
The Commission denies the request to re-schedule the LPIF hearing. The Commission notes the date of the Supreme Court hearing, however, and will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the parties involved in both hearings within the LPIF hearing schedule such that they have ample opportunity to participate in both proceedings.
A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding.
Sincerely,
Original signed by
John Traversy
Secretary General
