Application 2012-0794-4
CFTU-DT Montréal – Technical change
1. The Commission approves the application by Canal Savoir to change the authorized contours of the French-language conventional digital television programming undertaking CFTU-DT Montréal by increasing the average effective radiated power (ERP) from 450 to 910 watts (maximum ERP from 387 to 783 watts) and by decreasing the effective height of antenna above average terrain from 208.48 to 196.4 meters. All other technical parameters will remain unchanged. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
2. Canal Savoir stated that this technical change will improve the coverage area of the signal of its CFTU-DT transmitter, while respecting the maximum parameters of the Department of Industry’s (the Department) DTV Post-Transition Allotment Plan.
3. The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
