Corus Radio Company
CKDK-FM Woodstock – Technical change
1. The Commission approves the application by Corus Radio Company to change the authorized contours of the English-language commercial radio programming undertaking CKDK-FM Woodstock by relocating its transmitter site, by decreasing the average effective radiated power from 52,000 to 51,000 watts and by increasing its effective height of antenna above average terrain from 133 to 138.4 metres. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
2. The licensee indicated that it requested to relocate its transmitter site because its lease, which expires in March 2013, will not be renewed by the landowner. However, the licensee further indicated that the same landowner has offered it a twenty-year lease on a site approximately 213 metres northwest from the existing one.
3. The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
