Application 2012-0041-9
CJMV-FM Val-d’Or – Technical change
1. The Commission approves the application by Astral Media Radio inc. to amend the broadcasting licence for the French-language radio programming undertaking CJMV-FM Val-d’Or by changing the antenna radiation pattern, by increasing the effective radiated power from 63,100 to 96,000 watts, by decreasing the effective height of antenna above average terrain from 171.9 to 156.8 metres, and by changing the transmitter site in order to transfer land to its owner, who now wishes to operate an open pit mine. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
2. The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry (the Department) notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued. Therefore, in the absence of the notification by the Department, the licensee will not be able to implement the technical change approved in this decision.
