Re: CityWest’s wireless number portability implementation plan
Dear Sir:
On 12 December 2011, the Commission received a letter from CityWest Telephone Corporation (CityWest), in which the company requested that the Commission suspend the process associated with Rogers Communications’ request, made on behalf of Rogers Wireless, for the implementation of wireless number portability (WNP) in CityWest’s territory. CityWest requested that the process be suspended until the Commission issues a decision in the proceeding initiated by Proceeding to review network interconnection matters, Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2011-206, 23 March 2011 (TNC 2011-206).
Commission staff notes that a decision on CityWest’s WNP implementation plan is not planned to be issued before the Commission issues its determinations regarding the TNC 2011-206 proceeding.
However, in order to close the record of its WNP file, CityWest is to provide – by 20 December 2011 – comprehensive answers, including rationale and any supporting information, to the request for information included in the Commission staff letter dated 9 December 2011. Commission staff reiterates that should CityWest not provide the costing information requested in the 9 December letter, the Commission may not have sufficient information to make a determination on the company’s recovery of WNP costs.
All submissions are to be made in accordance with the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission Rules and Procedure, SOR/2010-277. CityWest should copy Rogers Communications in its response, and include its rationale for abridging any information it claims as confidential.
Yours sincerely,
