Dear Madam, Sirs:

Re:  Part 1 application by Bell Aliant seeking updated costs for residential Primary Exchange Service for subsidy calculation purposes – Request for Extension

On 5 October 2011, the Commission issued a request for information to Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership (Bell Aliant) and set out the following process dates:  21 October 2011 for responses to the request for information, 28 October 2011 for supplementary comments by interveners, and 4 November 2011 for reply comments by Bell Aliant.

On 14 October 2011, the Commission received a request for an extension to the above noted schedule by Bragg Communications Inc., operating as "EastLink", Cogeco Cable Inc., Rogers Communications Inc., Shaw Communications Inc. and Quebecor Media Inc., on behalf of its affiliate Videotron G.P. (collectively, the Cable Carriers). The Cable Carriers requested to extend the deadlines for supplementary comments to 10 November 2011 and reply comments by Bell Aliant to 18 November 2011.

On 18 October 2011, the Commission received a letter from Bell Aliant in response to the Cable Carriers’ request for extension. In its letter, Bell Aliant requested to extend the deadline for its responses to the Commission’s 5 October 2011 request for information to 3 November 2011 and supported the Cable Carriers’ requested extensions.

The process dates noted in the Commission’s 5 October 2011 letter are modified as follows. Bell Aliant is to provide responses to the Commission’s 5 October 2011 request for information, serving a copy on all interveners, by 3 November 2011. Interveners may file with the Commission, serving a copy on Bell Aliant, supplementary comments related to the information provided in Bell Aliant’s responses to the Commission’s 25 July 2011 and 5 October 2011 requests for information, by 10 November 2011. Bell Aliant may file reply comments with the Commission, serving a copy on all interveners, by 18 November 2011.

Documents to be filed and served in accordance with the above process are to be received, not merely sent, by the date indicated. Copies of the documents should also be sent to thomas.hui@crtc.gc.ca.

Yours sincerely,
