Dear Mr. Palackeal:

Re: Obligations of local VoIP service providers with respect to 9-1-1 emergency service

In a letter dated 9 March 2011, Commission staff requested that Global Communication Network Inc. (GCN) provide additional information related to the company’s proposed customer notification texts in order to comply with the directives in Telecom Decision 2005-61[1].  In a letter dated 16 March 2011 and amended in a letter dated 1st August 2011, GCN provided its response to the above-noted Commission letter.

Commission staff has reviewed GCN’s proposed customer notification texts and considers that they are in compliance with the Commission’s determinations in Telecom Decision 2005-61.  As indicated in that decision, this information is to be made available through all of the following:  marketing material used for television, radio and printed media, the terms and conditions of service, on-line material, customer service representatives, service contracts and starter kits.

Yours sincerely,
