Re: Urgent and expedited 10 day extension request for review and vary application of Telecom Regulatory Policy 2011-291

Dear Mr. Michaud,

Commission staff is in receipt of your letter dated 28 July 2011. In your letter you request permission to file an application to review and vary Telecom Regulatory Policy 2011-291 (TRP 2011-291) by 12 August 2011, 9 days after the 90 day period in which, pursuant to the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure (CRTC Rules of Procedure), an application to review and vary a Commission decision can be filed.

However, you did not provide any specific rationale as to why you are unable to file before the deadline and why, therefore, an extension should be granted.

Accordingly, Commission staff notes that if, as indicated in your letter, you wish to file an application to review and vary TRP 2011-291, you have until August 3rd to do so.  Commission staff also notes that if you believe that it will not be possible to file the application in time, you may apply for an extension, as per section 71(2) of the CRTC Rules of Procedure, providing specific and sufficient rationale to demonstrate that it is just and equitable for the Commission to grant such an extension.

Yours sincerely,
