Re: People’s Tel Limited Partnership Tariff Notice 67

Dear Madam:

The Commission received an application from Eastlink, on behalf of People’s Tel Limited Partnership (People’s), dated 10 June 2011, in which the company proposed a revision to People’s General Tariff, CRTC 25540, in order to introduce a new residential bundle, namely All Features Pack bundle. In addition, People’s proposed to delete its speed calling feature for which the company has no customers. People’s proposed an effective date of 1 August 2011 for the proposed tariff changes.

Commission staff notes that the most current rules for dealing with tariff applications, among other things, are summarized in Approval processes for tariff applications and intercarrier agreements, Telecom Information Bulletin CRTC 2010-455 (Telecom Bulletin 2010-455), 5 July 2010, and that the rules regarding the filing of applications requesting service destandardization or withdrawal have not changed since the issuance of Telecom Decision CRTC 2008-22.

Commission staff further notes that People’s has filed an application which comprises both a Group B tariff filing and a tariff filing for service destandardization and withdrawal pursuant to Telecom Decision 2008-22, but that applications dealing with the latter are to be filed separately.

Consequently, People’s is to file its requests to introduce a new All Features Pack bundle and withdraw the speed calling feature as separate tariff filings, the former as a Group B filing, and the latter as a tariff filing for service destandardization and withdrawal.

Commission staff would also like to remind People’s that it should refer to the procedures set out in Telecom Bulletin 2010-455 in all subsequent tariff filings, as opposed to Telecom Decision 2008-22.

In light of the above, this file is closed.

Sincerely,
