Subject: Bell Aliant - 2 June 2011 subsidy calculation filing
By letter dated 2 June 2011, Bell Aliant Regional Communications, L.P. (Bell Aliant) filed revised 2011 subsidy calculations pursuant to Obligation to serve and other matters, Telecom Regulatory Policy CRTC 2011-291, 3 May 2011, as amended by Obligation to serve and other matters, Telecom Regulatory Policy CRTC 2011-291-1, 11 May 2011.
In its revised 2011 subsidy filing, Bell Aliant filed subsidy calculations based upon its 2010 subsidy costs as the starting point for its current year’s subsidy calculations. In addition, Bell Aliant also filed subsidy calculations based upon the revised Phase II costs that were included in its 2 June 2011 application filed pursuant to Part I of the CRTC Rules of Practice and Procedur.
In its subsidy calculation filing, Bell Aliant requested that, upon approval of the updated costs, the updated costs be used in the 2011 subsidy calculations.
Until such time as revised subsidy costs have been approved by the Commission, the Commission will continue to use the previous year’s subsidy costs as the starting point for its current year’s subsidy calculations.
