Call for comments on proposed amendments to the Exemption order for new media broadcasting undertakings - provisions relating to vertical integration
New deadline for the submission of replies: 16 February 2012
1. The Commission received a letter, dated 23 January 2012, from the Canadian Independent Distributors Group, on behalf of Bragg Communications Inc., Cogeco Cable Canada LP, MTS Inc., TELUS Communications Company and the Canadian Cable Systems Alliance Inc., requesting that the Commission amend the procedure set out in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2011-805 in order to provide parties with the opportunity to reply to comments as part of the proceeding initiated by that Notice of Consultation.
2. In light of the importance to the industry of the changes proposed to the Exemption order for new media broadcasting undertakings, the Commission considers it appropriate to allow parties to reply to comments. Accordingly, parties will be allowed to file replies by no later than 16 February 2012.
3. The Commission stipulates that the replies must address only the points raised in comments filed by other parties.
