CHLT-FM Sherbrooke, CJRC-FM Gatineau and CHLN-FM Trois-Rivières –Licence amendments
1. The Commission approves applications by 591991 B.C. Ltd. to amend the broadcasting licences for the French-language commercial radio programming undertakings CHLT-FM Sherbrooke, CJRC-FM Gatineau and CHLN-FM Trois-Rivières, Quebec, by amending or adding certain conditions of licence relating to the broadcast of local programming, spoken word programming and news. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with these applications.
2. The licensee submitted these applications pursuant to Transfer of effective control of various commercial radio programming undertakings from Corus Entertainment Inc. to Cogeco inc., Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2010-942, 17 September 2010, which sets out conditions of approval, including the following:
The licensee shall file an application within 60 days following the date of this decision to amend its conditions of licence relating to local programming, spoken word programming and local news for the predominantly spoken word stations CHLN-FM Trois-Rivières, CHLT-FM Sherbrooke and CJRC-FM Gatineau, as it committed to at the hearing.
3. Accordingly, to reflect the licensee’s commitments, these conditions of licence, which should apply to all three stations, shall read as follows:

In each broadcast week, the licensee shall broadcast no less than 50 hours of local programming.

In each broadcast week, the licensee shall broadcast no less than 24 hours and 46 minutes of spoken word programming.

In each broadcast week, the licensee shall broadcast no less than 4 hours and 20 minutes of news programming.
4. The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, these amendments to these licences will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
