Correction to item 23
Further to Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2011-336, the Commission announces the following:
The following item is amended and the change is in bold:
Item 23
Gabriola Island, British Columbia
Application 2010-1554-5
Application by Gabriola Radio Society for a broadcasting licence to operate an English-language FM Type B community radio programming undertaking in Gabriola Island.
In Campus and community radio policy, Broadcasting Regulatory Policy CRTC 2010-499, 22 July 2010, the Commission announced that it would remove the distinction between Type A and Type B community stations. In order to do so entirely, the Commission must amend the Radio Regulations, 1986 (the Regulations). As such, when the Regulations are amended, this type of designation will become irrelevant.
The proposed station would operate on frequency 98.7 MHz (channel 254A1) with an effective radiated power of 60 watts (non-directional antenna with an effective height of antenna above average terrain of 178 metres).
