CIMT-TV Rivière-du-Loup – Licence amendment
1. The Commission approves the application by Télé Inter-Rives ltée to amend the broadcasting licence for the television programming undertaking CIMT-TV Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, to add post-transition digital transmitters in order to serve Edmundston, New Brunswick; Trois-Pistoles, Baie-Saint-Paul, Saint-Urbain, Les Escoumins and Cabano, Quebec. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
2. The new digital transmitter at Edmundston, CIMT-DT-1, will operate on channel 4 with an average effective radiated power (ERP) of 1,062 watts (maximum ERP of 2,220 watts with an effective height of antenna above average terrain (EHAAT) of 117.2 metres).
3. The new digital transmitter at Trois-Pistoles, CIMT-DT-2, will operate on channel 13 with an average ERP of 9 watts (maximum ERP of 50 watts with an EHAAT of 50.6 metres).
4. The new digital transmitter at Baie-Saint-Paul, CIMT-DT-4, will operate on channel 13 with an average ERP of 7.5 watts (maximum ERP of 40 watts with an EHAAT of 4.2 metres).
5. The new digital transmitter at Saint-Urbain, CIMT-DT-5, will operate on channel 38 with an average ERP of 70 watts (maximum ERP of 394 watts with an EHAAT of 27.8 metres).
6. The new digital transmitter at Les Escoumins, CIMT-DT-7, will operate on channel 35 with an average ERP of 64 watts (maximum ERP of 312 watts with an EHAAT of 87.9 metres).
7. The new digital transmitter at Cabano, CIMT-DT-8, will operate on channel 23 with an average ERP of 39 watts (maximum ERP of 101 watts with an EHAAT of 125.5 metres).
8. The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this licence amendment will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that broadcasting certificates will be issued.
9. The new digital transmitters must be operational at the earliest possible date and in any event no later than 31 August 2011. The Commission expects the licensee to inform it in writing once these transmitters are in operation.
