Call for comments on measures to control the loudness of commercial messages

1.      Further to Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2011-102, the Commission announces that the following report is available on the public record of this proceeding:

A Communications Research Centre Canada (CRC) report entitled A Status Report on Loudness Control Technologies and Standardization for Broadcasting, requested by the Commission.

2.      The CRC is a federal government laboratory responsible for research and development in advanced communications technologies. It has extensive experience relating to the measurement of the loudness of programming in the broadcasting environment.

3.      The Commission notes that the views expressed in this report are those of the authors and in no way bind the Commission.
