Re: Follow-up to Use of deferral accounts to improve access to telecommunications services for persons with disabilities and to expand broadband services to rural and remote communities, Telecom Decision CRTC 2008-1 (Telecom Decision 2008-1)
The Commission is in receipt of your submission, dated 19 July 2010, requesting that the Commission either reject the SuperNet cost estimates for Hays and Rolling Hills filed by TELUS Communications Company (TCC) on 14 May 2010 and the actual SuperNet costs for those communities filed by Axia NetMedia Corporation (Axia) on 14 June 2010, or alternatively accept on the record of the above noted proceeding the evidence of both TCC and Axia.
The Commission notes that in a letter dated 16 July 2010, Commission staff rejected the Axia submission on the basis that it was received past the close of record date, 8 June 2010.
The Commission has reviewed Axia’s request and considers that its 14 June 2010 submission was out of process. However, the Commission notes that it has on the public record data filed by Axia for other SuperNet communities that can be used in the Commission’s analysis to extrapolate estimated costs for the two communities in question.
