Dear Mr. Mercier:

Re:  Tariff Notice 417 (Group B)

On 16 June 2010, the Commission received an application from Télébec seeking to revise chapters 2.17 and 2.19 of its General Tariff.  These two chapters concern the basic residential package and the Advanced Phone package, respectively.

Commission staff notes that Télébec intends to offer these two packages to all its residential subscribers on a monthly contract.  However, it intends to maintain the yearly contracts of these subscribers in force for the same service.  There is no difference between the rates to be charged to subscribers on contract, whether it is monthly or yearly.

Commission staff asks that the company show cause, on or before 8 July 2010, why the proposed changes would not be unduly discriminatory.

Consequently, this application, and any subsequent amendments associated with it, will not be approved on an interim basis on the 15th calendar day after they were received.  The Commission however intends to dispose of the application, along with any subsequent amendments associated with it, within 45 business days of the date of the last amendment filed.

Yours sincerely,
