Dear Sirs:

Re:  Bell Aliant Tariff Notice 372

On 29 April 2010, the Commission received an application by Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership (Bell Aliant), under cover of Tariff Notice 372, in which the company proposed rate reductions to its General Tariff, Item 348, Hospital Patient Telephone Service in order to reflect the rates that are currently being charged for the service.  In addition, Bell Aliant requested that the Commission ratify the rates, pursuant to Section 25(4) of the Telecommunications Act, for the period from 1 June 2009 until the effective date of the application.

Bell Aliant identified Tariff Notice 372 as a Group B retail filing.

In Approval mechanisms for retail and CLEC tariffs, Telecom Decision

CRTC 2008-74, 21 August 2008 (Telecom Decision 2008-74), the Commission determined that Group B tariff filings will be approved on an interim basis on the 15th calendar day after they are filed, unless Commission staff issues a letter prior to the 15th calendar day indicating otherwise.

The Commission is considering the company’s request for ratification; consequently, this application, and any subsequent amendments associated with it, will not be approved on an interim basis on the 15th calendar day after they were received.  The Commission intends to dispose of this application, along with any subsequent amendments associated with it, within 45 business days.

Yours sincerely,
