Subject:  Follow-up to Use of deferral accounts to improve access to telecommunications services for persons with disabilities and to expand broadband services to rural and remote communities, Telecom Decision CRTC 2008-1 (Telecom Decision 2008-1) – Updated Consumer Rebate Proposal 

Dear Sirs:

In a letter, dated 11 March 2010, Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership and Bell Canada (collectively, the Bell companies) requested a fifteen-day extension for the filing of additional detail on their rebate proposal.  The Bell companies indicated that their request was based on the linkage between that information with some of the interrogatories addressed to them on 9 March 2010.

While granting an extension to the Bell companies would appear to be reasonable under the circumstances, Commission staff considers that a ten-day extension would be more appropriate given the tight schedule associated with this proceeding.  Accordingly, the deadline for filing the additional details with respect to the Bell companies rebate proposal is extended from 15 March 2010 to 25 March 2010.  Please note that this extension does not otherwise impact the proceeding schedule.
