Re: Tariff Notice 8 and 8A – 9-1-1 Emergency Reporting Service

The Commission received an application by 9164-3122 Québec Inc. on 8 February 2010, and amended on 15 February 2010, in which the company requested the Commission’s approval of a modification to Item 600 – 9-1-1 Emergency Reporting Service of its Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) General Tariff. Specifically, the company proposed to add in its CLEC General Tariff the terms and conditions pertaining to the Regulation governing the municipal tax for 9-1-1 (the Regulation) adopted by the Quebec Government.

Commission staff notes that the terms and conditions pertaining to the Regulation must be applied by local exchange carriers to all their retail customers. Commission staff also notes that the CLEC General Tariff can only contain interconnection services offered to telecommunications service providers.

As the terms and conditions pertaining to the Regulation do not apply to the interconnection services provided by 9164-3122 Québec Inc. to telecommunications service providers, Commission staff considers that it is not appropriate to include them in the CLEC General Tariff. Consequently, this application is closed.

Yours sincerely,
