Application 2010-0394-6, received 26 February 2010

CKCR-FM Revelstoke – Licence renewal

1.      The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the English-language commercial radio programming undertaking CKCR-FM Revelstoke from 1 December 2010 to 31 August 2017. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

2.      In Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2010-761, the Commission noted that it had granted the licensee a short-term licence renewal until 31 August 2010 on account of CKCR’s[1] repeated non-compliance. The examination of this station’s file demonstrates compliance with its regulatory obligations during the licence term that ended on 31 August 2010. Consequently, the Commission is of the view that a renewal period of 7 years is warranted.

3.      The licence will be subject to the conditions set out in Conditions of licence for commercial AM and FM radio stations, Broadcasting Regulatory Policy CRTC 2009-62, 11 February 2009.

4.      Because this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and files reports concerning employment equity with Human Resources and Social Development Canada, its employment equity practices are not examined by the Commission.

Secretary General

*This decision is to be appended to the licence.
