Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Moncton, New Brunswick, and Port-au-Port and St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador

CBAFT Moncton and CBFT Montréal – Licence amendments

1.      The Commission approves the applications by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to amend the broadcasting licences for the television programming undertaking CBAFT Moncton by adding the transmitters CBFNT Port-au-Port and CBFJ-TV St. John’s and for the television programming undertaking CBFT Montréal by removing the transmitters CBFNT and CBFJ-TV. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with these applications.

2.      CBFNT and CBFJ-TV will rebroadcast the programming of CBAFT instead of that of CBFT in order to adequately serve the population of Port-au-Port and St. John’s.

3.      The Commission notes that approval of these applications has no technical implications because all technical parameters remain unchanged, the transmitters will not be moved, and no changes in the official contours are planned.
