ACCESS – The Education Station – Licence amendment | |
1. | The Commission approves the application by Learning and Skills Television of Alberta Limited to amend the broadcasting licence for the satellite-to-cable programming undertaking known as ACCESS - The Education Station in order to increase its flexibility in fulfilling its described video programming commitments. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application. |
2. | In Accessibility of telecommunications and broadcasting services, Broadcasting and Telecom Regulatory Policy CRTC 2009-430, 21 July 2009, the Commission invited conventional television broadcasters to apply to amend their licences in order to provide these broadcasters with a measure of flexibility and to take into account requests from persons with disabilities for a wider choice of described video programming. The Commission considered it appropriate to add two more program categories to those that licensees of conventional television stations may use to fulfill their commitments for described video, specifically, 9 Variety and 11 General entertainment and human interest. |
3. | Accordingly, the Commission replaces ACCESS – The Education Station's current condition of licence relating to described video with the following condition of licence: |
