Dear Ms. Wood and Mr. Woodhead:

Re:  Globalive Part VII Application – E9-1-1 Transiting Arrangements with TELUS

On 28 September 2009, the Commission received an application, pursuant to Part VII of the CRTC Telecommunications Rules of Procedure, in which Globalive Wireless Management Corp. (Globalive Wireless) requested a Commission order directing TELUS Communications Company (TELUS) to permit the transiting of Globalive Wireless’ CCS7 signalling for the purpose of accessing TELUS’ Wireless Service Provider Enhanced Provincial 9-1-1 Network Access Service (WSP E9-1-1).

In its application, Globalive Wireless stressed the importance to its service launch of a timely resolution to this matter and requested that shortened timeframes be used for comment and reply. Globalive Wireless suggested 10 business days for comments and two business days for reply.

The staff is of the view that this matter should be dealt with as quickly as possible and agrees to the accelerated process, as suggested by Globalive Wireless.

Therefore, TELUS is to file its answer in regard to the application, servicing a copy on Globalive Wireless by 14 October 2009, and Globalive is to file its reply, serving a copy on TELUS by 16 October 2009.

Where a document is to be filed or served by a specific date, the document must be actually received, not merely sent, by that date. When filing a document with the Commission, please also send a copy via email to bill.mason@crtc.gc.ca and shari.fisher@crtc.gc.ca.

Sincerely,
