Dear Mr. Tague:

RE: Agreement 1323/00 – Provincial Tel Inc. / LES.Net (1996) Inc. – Master Agreement for LEC-IXC Interconnection

On 7 July 2009, the Commission received an application by Provincial Tel Inc. in which the company requested Commission’s approval of the Master Agreement for LEC-IXC Interconnection between itself and LES.Net (1996) Inc.

Commission staff notes that in Forbearance with respect to certain inter-carrier agreements filed pursuant to section 29 of the Telecommunications Act, Telecom Decision CRTC 2007-129, 14 December 2007 (Decision 2007-129), the Commission determined that agreements for interconnection between local exchange carriers (LECs) and interexchange carriers (IXCs) (LEC-IXC agreements) that were identical to Commission-approved models no longer had to be filed for Commission approval.

Commission staff also notes, however, that existing LECs must provide the Commission with the name of the parties and the date of execution of any Commission-approved standard form LEC-IXC agreement on a quarterly basis within fourteen days of the close of the quarter in question.

Consequently, this application is closed.

Yours sincerely,
