Re: Review of the regulatory measures associated with confidential customer information and privacy – Request for extension
Dear Sir or Madam:
This letter is in response to the letter dated 9 March 2009 submitted to the Commission by the Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC), seeking an extension of four days for all parties to file comments and reply comments in order to provide parties with more time to develop and file comments on the issues raised in this proceeding. Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership, Bell Canada, Northwestel Inc., Saskatchewan Telecommunications and Télébec, Société en commandite supported PIAC's request.
In the circumstances, Commmission staff considers that an extension to the deadline for the filing of comments and reply comments is appropriate. Consequently, paragraphs 15, 16 and 17 respectively of Telecom Notice of Consultation 2009-71 are revised as follows:
15. Any party who wishes merely to file written comments in this proceeding, without receiving copies of the various submissions, may do so by writing to the Commission by 20 March 2009 at the address or fax number noted above, or by filling out the online form.
16. All parties may file with the Commission, serving a copy on all other parties, comments with regard to the above-noted issues by 20 March 2009.
17. All parties may file with the Commission, serving copies on all other parties, reply comments by 3 April 2009.
Parties are reminded that where a document is to be filed by a specific date, the document must be actually received, and not merely sent, by that date.
Yours sincerely,
