Re: Tariff Notice 269 - Implementation of an expanded local calling area between Black River Matheson and Ramore

Dear Madam or Sir:

On 26 February 2009, the Commission received an application by NorthernTel Limited Partnership (NorthernTel), filed under cover of Tariff Notice 269, proposing revisions to it General Tariff in order to introduce an expanded local calling area between Black River Matheson and Ramore.

NorthernTel is requested to provide the methodology and the associated calculation for its proposed surcharge of $0.89 per access line that would apply in the affected exchanges.  The information is to be filed with the Commission by 10 March 2009.  Where a document is to be filed by a specific date, the document must be actually received, not merely sent, by that date.

The proposed tariff revisions will therefore not come into effect on an interim basis on 15 March 2009.  The Commission intends to dispose of the application within 45 business days.

Yours sincerely,
