APTN – Licence amendment |

1. | The Commission approves the application by Aboriginal Peoples Television Network Incorporated (APTN) to amend the broadcasting licence for the television programming undertaking APTN in order to allow temporary flexibility in meeting its weekly Aboriginal- and French-language programming requirements as well as its priority programming and described video requirements during the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application. |
2. | APTN stated that, for a 17-day period in February 2010, it will broadcast a minimum of 10 hours per day of Olympic coverage: four hours in English, four hours in French, and two hours in a variety of Aboriginal languages. |

The Commission is satisfied with APTN’s commitment that it will make up for any shortcomings to the weekly requirements caused by the Olympic coverage by increasing accordingly the amount of the required programming as set out in its conditions of licence throughout the remainder of the broadcast year.
