CFAO-FM Alliston – Technical change |
|
1. | The Commission approves the application by 2188301 Ontario Corporation to amend the technical parameters of the English-language low power commercial radio programming undertaking CFAO-FM Alliston, by reducing the effective height of the antenna above average terrain from 48.4 metres to 15.53 metres1 and by relocating its transmitter half a kilometre away from the original site. There were no interventions to this application. The implementation is subject to the notification by the Department of Industry (the Department) discussed in paragraph 3 below. |
2. | The applicant explained that these changes are needed because the antenna site it initially proposed is unavailable. It further indicated that the changes to its authorized contours will be minimal. |
Condition prior to the implementation of the amendment to the technical parameters |
|
3. | The Commission reminds the applicant that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued. Therefore, in the absence of the notification by the Department, the applicant will not be able to implement the amendment to the technical parameters approved in this decision. |
