Sogetel inc. – PIC/CARE access customer handbook

  File number: 8643-S4-200905474

1.

The Commission received an application by Sogetel inc. (Sogetel), dated 27 March 2009, for approval of an amendment to its Primary Interchange Carrier/Customer Account Record Exchange Access Customer Handbook (PIC/CARE access customer handbook).

2.

In its application, Sogetel indicated that it had acquired all of the shares of 9164-3122 Québec inc., operating as Sogetel Numérique, and that since 1 January 2009, the two undertakings merged under the name Sogetel inc. In order to comply with its obligations as a competitive local exchange carrier, Sogetel proposed an amendment to its PIC/CARE access customer handbook to replace the name Sogetel Numérique with Sogetel inc.

3.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

4.

The Commission notes that the PIC/CARE access customer handbook proposed by Sogetel was approved in order 9164-3122 Québec inc. – PIC/CARE access customer handbook, Telecom Order CRTC 2007-54, 20 February 2007. The Commission considers Sogetel's proposed amendment to be reasonable, as it reflects Sogetel Numérique's change of ownership.

5.

Accordingly, the Commission approves the amendment to Sogetel's PIC/CARE access customer handbook.
